Something which has come up recently - God is not just good, He is the reason goodness exists. God is not just merciful, He is the very definition of mercy, He IS mercy, mercy exists because of Him. God is not just joy, joy exists because of Him. God is not just funny, humour exists because He exists. God is not just kind, kindness exists because of Him. God is not just beautiful, beauty exists because He exists. God is not just humble, humility exists because He does.
How much more entwined with life does this make you realise He is?! (that sounds suspiciously like yodaspeak, but ill leave it in that form...).
Also, something i read yesterday - no offence guys, this doesn't make you any less beautiful (:P) but this is for my sisters -
when God created the world, He made woman last. He wasn't fully content until woman was made because man needed a 'helper'. When He made woman, He made woman because He said "it is NOT GOOD for the man to be alone." (genesis 2:18), you were intended to bring goodness into the world, God made you because it was good - and if He had made everything up to that point beautiful, then how can you not be beautiful?! (after He'd had all that practise aswell...!) Too often, girls are bombarded with messages of actual hatred, of their bodies, of their form, of the way they were made. You were made this way because it is good. Fight with me against these messages, because they are so wrong, it hurts. These ideas that you're not beautiful in your own skin are bad, they're joyless, and most importantly - they're NOwhere near the truth of who you actually are. I guess this is a message we hear a lot, its the message we fight the lies with, it might not be anything new - but let it take root in your heart, let it resound in your soul, let God comfort you with this message of beauty. Can you believe God made us from man, and saw that what He had made was good?! It is truth though. So, rejoice in the way you are so fearfully made - you truly are beautiful.
I don't intend this to be gag-worthy, just an expression of truth, i guess its just a reminder, encouragement. It was a reminder that helped me yesterday anyway. :)
Something else...
"For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in[a] Christ Jesus our Lord."
Romans 6:23
ok, so i never really read this properly, the WAGES of sin...that indicates that people actually WORK to earn death.
Which led to the question...what am i working for today?
