I love my mum. She's endured too much for anyone, and yet she still smiles. Most days shes in so much pain she should just be in bed, but she works full time, and then still finds time to wash, cook, clean. She sort of lost her childhood, but she rarely complains about that - shes living it out now.
Shes someone i really respect, someone i look up to and value more than most. I'm glad, so glad that she's in my life, that she's my mum, and that she's been one of two to instill values, knowledge and general lunacy in me over the past 18 years. God has blessed me beyond all belief, by giving me a mum, who although human like me, i feel like i don't really deserve. He has been so good, even before i was born...the blessing that she is, that He is through her.
i doubt i'd be much like i am now without the influence she's been in my life. Ive been more aware of how ive been moulded over the past years, but i know that she's had a lot to do with all my mouldings. (mouldy) God's taught me a lot through her.
I think, we've been through a lot together, in a cruel way we were sort of pushed closer as a family through sad times, but, strangely i don't actually remember them that well. Apparently, you're meant to be able to remember the bad times better than the good times, (its all to do with learning...if you're interested...can explain...), but somehow my strongest memories are all good, happy times, joyful times. I think, even with my sister, we don't remember the bad times...the good seems to outweigh it, i guess the way the bad things have been presented to us makes them easier to bear, and easier to overcome.
Since ive been little, my mums always been the one to put a positive slant on things, no matter whats happening - theres ALWAYS an upside. Even if it isn't an upside which affects you directly...i want to be like that.
She's just such a beautiful person, possibly one of the most beautiful people i know.
Its awesome to remember the blessing people are on their birthday...so happy birthday mum, i love you, no matter what anyone says, you are beautiful. If i listen hard enough i can hear you laughing, hear your voice, that childish giggle/chuckle you do when you say something REALLY silly...and it makes me smile. :) I like how you are creative, how you do small things for people which show you care, your cooking, your hugs (havent had many lately :P), i like your face and how it all lights up when you smile (sounds cheesy, but it does...you lightbulb), i like your music taste (:P) and how we used to dance when i was little...i like it when we do DIY together...shelves...tiles...we'll take em all on! i like how when we're sitting in the car and you say something really random, or really insightful...and then carry on driving like nothing happened. i like how you talk to yourself all the time and then laugh when you realise you are, i like how you sing (offkey :P) when you're working, i like how you sqwawk, i like how you stick your head around doors and say silly things, i like our random drives late at night and our road trips, i like how you say really, really funny things which make NO sense...and then get confused at why im laughing.
I know things haven't always been perfect, that sometimes it feels like the family is falling apart and that there has been and will be bad times. But, i also know that you've always done your best, and will continue to do so - and thats more than i could ask for. Thank you so much for your support, your love and care, your joy and your guidance.
I hope for you all the blessings which He could possibly give you, for the shifting of sorrow and the knowledge of joy. I hope for you a divine encounter with God and the fullest possible knowledge of His love and peace. I hope for you, something better than anything the world or people can offer you...and my heart physically hurts with how glad i am right now that you know God and will know eternity.
"When i think of all this, i fall to my knees and pray to the Father, the creator of everything in heaven and on earth. I pray that from His glorious, unlimited riches He will empower you with inner strength through his Spirit. Then Christ can make his home in your hearts as you trust Him. Your roots will grow down into God's love and keep you strong. And may you have the power to understand as all God's people should, how wide, how long, how high and how deep His love is. May you experience the love of Christ, though it is too great to understand fully. Then you will be made complete with all the fullness of life and power that comes from God. Now, all glory to God who is able, through his mighty power at work within us, to accomplish more than we might ask or think. Glory to him in the church and in Christ Jesus through all generation forever and ever. Amen!" Eph 3:14-21
Thank You God, for my mum, for who You've made her to be and for all the work You're going to do in her in the future.
